Customers old and new joined Wild Oats for a special celebration to mark 45 years in business.

The Bristol-based retailer, founded by Mike and the late Loes Abrahams in 1981, brought together its current team and customers who have supported the store over the decades, along with Mike, who visited the store for the celebration (pictured).

For the anniversary, Wild Oats teamed up with two local independent bakeries, Everest Bread and The Great Cake Company, for a bakery stall outside the store, and the first 45 customers spending £10 at the stall received a limited-edition Wild Oats anniversary tote and a coffee. One particularly lovely moment was welcoming Jay, a customer who has shopped at Wild Oats for more than 40 years. He joined Mike and Director and Store Manager, Alicia Stephens, and surprised the team with a planted tree to mark the anniversary.

Alicia commented: “This is a huge achievement, and it’s all down to the loyalty of customers like Jay who have been with us since the very beginning. Seeing Mike back in the shop, surrounded by the community we’ve built together, was a really special moment for all of us.”
