An incredible £1million has been donated to good causes through the Viridian Charity Programme.

The ethical supplement brand revealed the impressive sum has been raised since the programme was launched in 1999, with more than 800 charities receiving donations to support their work. For every Viridian bottle purchased, a donation is made to the charity programme.

MD and co-owner, Holly Thallon Steenson, commented: “We’re incredibly honoured to celebrate this charity milestone, reached with the help of our customers and unwavering support health stores. Viridian has now donated more than £1 million to charity! Giving back has been at the heart of everything we do. Every year, we donate to ethical charities that reflect our values, and every year Viridian retailers help decide where those donations go by voting for the causes that support people, animals and planet. From everyone at Viridian, thank you!”

Charities that have benefited throughout the last 26 years include Friends of the Earth, NSPCC and Made in Hackney, to the smaller local ones from Harry’s Pals, Katherine House Hospice Trust and Parkinsons Support Fermanagh.

Harriet Foster, Corporate Partnerships Manager at the Samaritans, commented: “It’s thanks to the generosity of our supporters, like Viridian, that we’re able to continue to be here 24/7.”

And Emma George, CEO of Food for the Brain Foundation, added: “We are proud to celebrate the impact our trusted partner, Viridian Nutrition, makes possible.”

A spokesperson from Save the Children, also commented: “Save the Children thanks Viridian Nutrition for their longstanding support of our work and for standing with children in the UK and around the world. They truly share our ongoing commitment to ensure that any child anywhere has the right to be protected, educated, and healthy.”

Throughout August, Viridian will be highlighting the valuable work of the charities and hear the inspiring stories from health stores on their successful nominations.

Holly added: “This milestone simply wouldn’t have happened without the unwavering support of our independent health stores, who have championed the programme since day one. We are incredibly grateful to them and looking forward to raising more for good causes.”
