HTC Health is marking its 40th anniversary this year.

The supplier of bulk health supplements in the UK was founded in 1978 as a family business, and quickly grew to become one of the leading distributors of professional AV products to trade and commercial users within the UK. Building on the success of that division, in 2005, the owners of HTC Group decided to diversify the company’s ventures, after it had recognised an undeveloped niche in the UK bulk health supplement market.

The first products to be sourced by HTC Health were Evening Primrose Oil and Propolis. Over the years, the company has developed a large portfolio of products and is now internationally known for supplying soft gels, tablets, empty capsules, sports nutrition, pet nutrition and raw materials from an established network of suppliers. Today, HTC is a second-generation family business.

The wholesaler has seen significant increases in turnover, and reported record figures in 2016, demonstrating that the company has once again achieved its strategic goal of growing steadily and sustainably, notwithstanding economic cycles.

Peter Groves, Managing Director, commented: “We have achieved this milestone through the hard work and dedication of our employees and our culture of customer service. We have dedicated ourselves to 40 years of product innovation to provide our customers with the highest quality goods available. Throughout 2018, we will be taking a look at where we started, what we have achieved, and what our plans are for the future. “

Founder and Company Chairman, Gerry Olohan, added: “To be in a successful business for 40 years is extremely gratifying and humbling. My vision was to create a business that offered customers an honest and reliable service, plus employment for friends and family – I think I’ve achieved both! During HTC’s 40-year lifetime, we’ve had many highs, including winning our first Government Tender valued over £3m, but we’ve also had lows; the early demise of three family members, which was a great loss to the family and the business. We have been successful in maintaining our market leading position, and that is a big acknowledgement to all the generations of family members and employees, who have invested their energy in our company through the years. We look forward to continuing our tradition of quality and excellence for another 40 years!”
