Natural Health Trade Summit paused for 2020

The organisers of the Natural Health Trade Summit have reluctantly announced that the 2020 event will be postponed.

The event was due to be held at The Principal Hotel, in Manchester, by Target Publishing, in partnership with the National Association of Health Stores (NAHS). However, in recent weeks, and working closely with the hotel, it has become clear that social distancing measures likely to still be in place in October makes it unfeasible for the event to take place.

The 2021 date has been confirmed as October 10 and will take place at The Principal Hotel.

Each year, Target Publishing donates a portion of the stand sales to the NAHS and to ensure it doesn’t miss out on important revenue, Target Publishing is matching last year’s donation, meaning they continue to receive funding to support retailers when they need it most.

Commenting on the decision, David Cann, founder and Managing Director of Target Publishing, said:  “Pressing pause on the Natural Health Trade Summit for 2020 was a difficult decision, but the health and safety of our attendees of all those who attend our events come first.

“Independent health food retailing has – and always will be – at the heart of our business, so we are bringing forward our annual donation of £3,150 – matching last year – to the NAHS for their contribution to the summit so they can continue to help support independent health food retailers through this challenging time.”

Gary Trickett, Chairman of the NAHS, added: “The Natural Health Trade Summit is always the highlight of the independent health food industry’s calendar, so although the difficult decision has been made to pause this year’s event, we are already looking forward to welcoming back retailers and suppliers alike to an even stronger show in 2021. We would like to thank the organiser, Target Publishing, for bringing forward their donation to the NAHS in advance of the 2021 event, which we’ll use to help support health stores at a time they need us most.”
