CLF Distribution has announced a series of new benefits it offers retailers.
The company has recently refinanced with Santander due to what MD, Robin Holiday, says in part is due to the novel banking products it offers. As part of this, CLF can secure retailers one per cent on credit cards and 12p on debit card transactions by leveraging its buying power.
“We also are now offering our suppliers a Santander-backed payment scheme – when we get supplier invoices we load them on the Santander payment system and from that point onwards it is Santander that owes the supplier the invoice value,” Holiday explained. “This gives suppliers the comfort of knowing their debt with CLF is guaranteed to be paid on the agreed payment date – if the supplier wants to take the payment earlier than terms they can but pay a small interest fee of 0.083 per cent per day – there are lots of benefits.”
In addition, CLF delivery vans are now TomTom tracked, allowing retailers to log in and see how far away their delivery is.
“This way they can organise staff breaks around the arrival of the day’s delivery,” he added. “They can be assured of responsible driving because the TomTom tracking includes driver behaviour.
Finally, retailers can buy a trolley from CLF so they can wheel their delivery around the shop and book items straight onto the shelf.
“There is no packaging required so none to dispose of saving costs and our environment,” Holiday said.
