A team from supplement company Pharma Nord are celebrating after summiting the highest point in Africa.
Bent Henriksen OBE, the Managing Director of Pharma Nord UK, reached the top of Mount Kilimanjaro recently at the impressive age of 76. And he wasn’t alone; he achieved the feat with his son, Rasmus, who is National Sales Manager at the company, and his granddaughter, Celine, 57 years younger than Bent, meaning three generations completed the challenge together.
The Tanzanian mountain is Danish-born Bent’s fifth peak in five years; he has already tackled Everest Base Camp, Mont Blanc, Mount Elbrus and Monte Rosa.
When he’s not climbing mountains, Bent is Managing Director of Pharma Nord in the UK, a role he has held for over 25 years. The Danish company is known worldwide for its preventative nutritional supplements and commitment to research and he certainly walks the walk; Bent believes that he can generate more energy and stay active thanks to the coenzyme Q10 Pharma Nord make.
“Pharma Nord has spent years perfecting the way its Q10 is absorbed into the body. This is really important if you want to feel the effect,” Bent explains. “We wanted to summit the mountain in good time to raise Q10’s profile as a natural body fuel. My whole family, even my granddaughter Celine (19) and son Rasmus (38) used it on this trip to ensure we could cope with the demanding ascent.”
Noel Hanna, the world record holder and endurance athlete from Northern Ireland, who discovered Pharma Nord’s Bio-Quinone Q10, joined them on the trek.
In other Pharma Nord news, the team is reminding retailers not to miss out on their place at a forthcoming symposia.
Being held at the Cavendish Conference Centre, in London, on November 4, the free to attend event is open to retailers, with guest speakers being nutrition expert, Babi Chana, and Pharma Nord’s National Sales Manager, Rasmus Henriksen.
Topics including breakthroughs in heart health to selling tips will be covered.
